The City of Fairburn is updating its Comprehensive Plan. This plan will represent the community's vision for Fairburn and outline the steps necessary to make that vision come to life and guide the decisions the City will make regarding future development.

To be successful, the Comprehensive Plan will need input from Fairburn's residents and stakeholders to ensure the plan considers all perspectives.

What is a Comprehensive Plan?

A Comprehensive Plan is a high-level guide for how cities manage growth and development. Per state requirements, each local government in Georgia must prepare, adopt, maintain, and implement a Comprehensive Plan that meets a set of minimum standards, and update it every five years.  A comprehensive plan typically results from lengthy and intensive analysis and community input from residents and stakeholders. The plan ultimately provides the overall guiding principles for the growth and development of a community.

The Fairburn Comprehensive Plan will serve as a blueprint for managing the physical and economic development of the community over the next 20 years. The Comprehensive Plan will outline goals and policies related to land use, transportation, housing, public facilities, economic development, natural resources, and more.
